With ClassDojo, as teachers, we can track and reward students’ positive behaviors. Additionally, it’s a great channel of communication between teachers and parents.
Aim:
- Enhance communication between teachers and parents;
- Encourage positive student behavior and engagement;
- Provide real-time feedback for a supportive classroom environment.
Benefits:
- Improves parent-teacher communication;
- Encourages positive student behavior;
- Facilitates real-time feedback.
Challenges:
- Privacy concerns with student data;
- Dependence on a stable internet access;
- Potential for misinterpretation of behavior data;
- Dependence on the reward model (awards framework).
Personal Reflection: I’ll be honest, I like ClassDojo and find useful its various applications. However, in my opinion, it is limited in terms of features when compared to Canvas by Instructure LMS. Additionally, I do not find it the best solutions for all age groups. Still, it’s worth a try as long as positive results are noted.
